The Nature of Things

The Nature of Things is a Canadian television series of documentary programs. It debuted on CBC Television on November 6, 1960. Many of the programs document nature and the effect that humans have on it. The program was one of the first to explore environmental issues, such as clear-cut logging. The series is named after an epic poem by Roman philosopher Lucretius: "Dē Rērum Nātūrā" — On the Nature of Things.

Important Things with Demetri Martin 2009

Important Things with Demetri Martin is a sketch-variety show that aired on Comedy Central starring comedian Demetri Martin. Each episode examined a single theme, the "important thing", such as timing, power, control and money. All sketches, short vignettes, animated segments and stand-up comedy were loosely related to the theme of the episode. The show was produced by Jon Stewart's Busboy Productions, and contains stand-up, prop comedy and musical comedy by Martin, as well as taped sketches. Jon Stewart took an active role in editing the first few episodes.

When Things Were Rotten 1975

When Things Were Rotten is an American situation comedy television series created in 1975 by Mel Brooks and aired for half a season by ABC. A parody of the Robin Hood legend, the series starred Richard Gautier as Robin Hood. Also in the regular cast were Dick Van Patten as Friar Tuck, Bernie Kopell as Alan-a-Dale, Henry Polic II as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Ron Rifkin as Prince John, Misty Rowe as Maid Marian, and David Sabin as Little John. Richard Dimitri played a dual role as identical twin brothers; Renaldo was one of the Merry Men, while Bertram was the Sheriff's right-hand man.

Seeing Things 1981

Seeing Things is a Canadian comedy-drama mystery television series which originally aired on CBC Television from 1981 to 1987. It was also seen in Europe, South Africa, Singapore, Spain, Australia and the United States. In all, 43 episodes were produced. With the exception of "Seeing R.E.D." episodes were one hour long. The show starred Louis Del Grande as Louis Ciccone, a newspaper journalist who solves murders with the help of his ability to see postcognitive visions. Unfortunately, Louis cannot consciously control this sense except by investigating the clues the initial vision gives. In some episodes, however, such as "Seeing the Country", he is able to stop visions from entering his mind. Nevertheless, only when he discovers new information on the case will further visions occur, which provide increasingly more detail until they finally reveal the murderer. Del Grande was also the show's creator and writer. The show also starred Del Grande's real-life wife Martha Gibson as Ciccone's wife Marge, and Janet-Laine Green as crown attorney Heather Redfern. The supporting cast also included Frank Adamson, Lynne Gordon, Ivan Beaulieu, Murray Westgate, Louis Negin and Cec Linder.

Wild Things is an eight episode reality television series which features three transgender women on a fundraising road-trip to earn money for a relative with a life-threatening disease. The series stars Maria Roman, Tiara Russell and Cassandra Cass. The three women were first featured together in the documentary film Trantasia which chronicled contestants in the first ever 'World's Most Beautiful Transsexual Pageant'. Wild Things reunites the three transgender women as they visit small towns in the United States and work in traditionally macho jobs to earn cash to assist Maria's brother who is struggling with a critical illness. The series premiered on Canadian television on The Movie Network and Movie Central on March 22, 2010. The series has also been featured on Entertainment Tonight Canada.

All the Small Things is a British television drama, produced by the BBC and created and developed by Debbie Horsfield. Following the lives and ambitions of a church choir and its members, the programme began airing on 31 March 2009 and ran for six episodes. The programme frequently features musical performances from its cast, usually popular music. The programme's title is taken from "All the Small Things", a hit song from the American pop punk band Blink-182.

The Way Things Work

The Way Things Work was a short-lived television series based on the best-selling book of the same name by David Macaulay. The series was co-produced by Millimages and Schlessinger Media; it was distributed by the latter. The program ran daily on BBC2 and CBBC from 2001 to early 2002, before it was discontinued due to a lack of both episodes and audience. The series was one of the last few educational TV programmes still shown by the BBC on CBBC. It is one of its most short-lived television series, running for only 26 15 minute episodes. The programme aims to teach basic principles of science to young viewers and revolves around the residents of the backward Mammoth Island as they struggle through daily life with the use of outlandish contraptions. The series was later dubbed into French and briefly aired in syndication on TV network France 5. A DVD containing all 26 episodes of the series was released in 2005.

Shuji is a young teacher whose confidence and honesty has made him popular with the students. He is engaged to Natsumi, also a teacher at the same high school. At the morning of the new semester, Shuji wakes up with a hangover and no memory of the night before, and a strange young woman in his bed. Things go from bad to worse when the girl, Hikari, makes it clear that she's in love with him and wants to break him and Natsumi apart. Shuji's honest nature makes him want to come clean to everyone about what has happened, but before he has the chance, the secret is out. As his life starts crumbling around him, Shuji still decides to try and save Hikari from herself.
