Dance on Sunset is a dance and music series hosted by Quddus on Nickelodeon that featured dance routines, called the "Fresh-Squeezed Dance", designed to be performed by its pre-teen and teen-age viewers. Choreographer Tony Testa and the show's dance troupe, the Nick 6, demonstrated each routine slowly, repeating it several times during the episode. An "advanced" version of each routine was featured on the show's website. Episodes featured musical guests, which included Akon, Natasha Bedingfield, Miranda Cosgrove, Fall Out Boy, Fergie, Janet Jackson, Sean Kingston, Lil' Mama, Jesse McCartney, Menudo, Omarion, Panic! at the Disco and Ashlee Simpson, as well as dancing by a studio audience. The show premiered March 29, 2008, immediately after the 2008 Kids' Choice Awards. The name 'On Sunset' came from the production location Nickelodeon On Sunset on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Director and choreographer Vincent Paterson and choreographer Nancy O'Meara serve as judges for the competition. The show premiered on April 3, 2008 on Bravo.
Club Dance was a TV show that aired on The Nashville Network from April 1, 1991 to February 5, 1999 for a total of 1848 episodes, with re-runs until June 28, 1999 The show was filmed in Knoxville, Tennessee set at a fictional "White Horse Cafe". The cast consisted of enthusiastic unpaid local dancers and visiting professional dancers and dance groups from all over the United States, creating a unique atmosphere of mixing of styles and traditions. Within the limits of the script, the dancers were free to behave and respond to the music as if in a real dance venue. The show included a wide variety types of country dances lead and follow partner dances, choeographed dances, and line dances, as well as some others, most notably West Coast Swing, which due its slotted style allowed for dancing between tables and in other confined spaces. The show was accompanied with the monthly newsletter Club Dance: Behind the Scenes. It was produced by Knoxville-based RIVR Media.

The show is the national TV version of the hit Zee Bangla dance reality show Dance Bangla Dance which also has Mithun Chakraborty as the Grandmaster. The show first premiered on January 30, 2009, was created by Zee TV producers . The first season was hosted by Tarana Raja; since then second season it has been hosted by Indian television personality Saumya Tandon with Jay Bhanushali. The show features a format where dancers from a variety of styles enter open auditions held in Indian Metropolitan cities to showcase their unique style and talents and, if allowed to move forward, then are put through Mega-audition rounds of auditions to test their ability to adapt to different styles. At the end of Mega Audition, Only Top 18 dancers are chosen as 'finalists' who move on to compete in the competition's main phase where they will perform solo, duet and group dance numbers in a variety of styles in competition for the votes of the broadcast viewing audience which, combined with the input of a panel of judges, determines which dancers will advance to the next stage from week to week.
