Comedy Connections was a BBC One documentary series produced by BBC Scotland that aired from 2003 to 2008. The show looked at the stories behind the production of some of Britain's comedy television programmes, showing how they tied in with the production of other comedy shows. The show featured interviews with some of the cast and crew of the subject programme, as well as footage from the series. Comedy Connections mostly documented BBC comedies and sitcoms, although two programmes have been from ITV and two from Channel 4. The first series consisted of six episodes, however the rest of the series consist of eight episodes each, the first two series were narrated by Julia Sawalha, however the rest of the series were narrated by Doon Mackichan.

Comedy Gold is a comedy reality TV show, created and produced by Darren Chau. The format documented the nationwide search for Australia's next hit TV comedy show. The program was filmed at the 2007 SPAA conference on the Gold Coast and premiered on Foxtel’s the Comedy Channel on Australia Day 2008. The contestants submitted ideas for a thirteen part half hour comedy series to a panel of judges, and the show offered up $25,000 to the winning TV show towards its development. Finalists included Steve Kearney of Los Trios Ringbarkus fame. Jason Gann was the runner up with his project Jason and the residents, however the eventual winners were Rob Hibbert and Sean Condon with their project I can't believe it's not better. Executive Produced by the Comedy Channel Programming Director Darren Chau and Produced by Rohan Timlock of Kenny, I can't believe it's not better premiered in December 2009. The competition returned the following year and was hosted by H.G. Nelson. Adam Zwar was shortlisted as a finalist with Agony Uncles.
School of Comedy is a British character-based comedy sketch show which was turned into a television show after a successful run of review shows at the Edinburgh festival. The cast is entirely made up of children much like in the popular musical Bugsy Malone which creator Laura Lawson often references to in interviews about the show. The show comprises sketches involving a very diverse group of characters; from a lesbian couple in 1940s war-time Britain, to a pair of South-African security guards. The show is unique from other comedy sketch shows because even though the show's content is mature enough to need to be shown after the watershed, the roles are all played by teenage children of ages 11 – 15. The show ran for two series' on E4 from 1 October 2009 to 18 October 2010. The show has been credited with starting the careers of both Will Poulter and Jack Harries. Poulter has gone on to star in films such as Son of Rambow, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and We're the Millers, while Harries has gone on to start a YouTube channel named "JacksGap", which currently has over 2 million subscribers and has made Harries both well-known and popular on the internet.
The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour is an American variety show starring American pop-singer Cher and her husband, Sonny Bono. The show ran on CBS in the United States, when it premiered in August 1971. The show was canceled May 1974, due to the couple's divorce, though the duo would reunite in 1976 for the identically-formatted The Sonny & Cher Show, which ran until 1977.
